Hi ,
I hope you are safe and well.
It is great to welcome you back to Edgbaston following a difficult 15 months. We’ve seen some excellent cricket and look forward to even more as we hopefully progress in the Vitality Blast, LV= Insurance County Championship and Royal London Cup.
Since returning, the majority of Members and spectators have been excellent in supporting the Bears, but there have been issues regarding some people’s conduct, particularly in the lounges. This is despite putting in place positive measures to manage the stadium which have led to an improved atmosphere for The Hundred games, particularly in the Eric Hollies Stand.
We want everyone that visits Edgbaston to feel welcome, safe and supported. So, we won’t tolerate any form of abusive behaviour to staff, players, fellow Members or cricket followers in general. If we do experience problems, those involved will be asked to leave without question and face further action if deemed appropriate.
Should you witness poor behaviour at any point, then please don’t hesitate to raise it with a nearby steward or Room Manager. You can also contact us on the day via the Edgbaston app which is monitored constantly by the Control Room. Otherwise, let me know if there are problems and I will address them.
Rest assured, this isn’t a move to more draconian management of the stadium, it’s quite the opposite. I want everyone to enjoy their time at Edgbaston, safe in the knowledge they will be treated with respect and courtesy regardless of whether they’re Members, staff, players or guests.
Thank you for your continued support and hopefully we can end the season well, on and off-the-field.
Best regards,
Stuart Cain
Chief Executive
